White & Stained Vintage Country Hutch

Morning friends!

If you're a regular reader than you know I hold General Finishes paint in a special place. It is simply my go to. I was trying to think about why I loved it so much the other day, as it has been a few projects since I've used it. As soon as I painted my first stroke on this hutch, I remembered. The ultra smooth application and satin finish cannot be matched.

So with that said...I completed this hutch for a client of mine who loves using family pieces in her home (in fact, I did a coffee/end table set over the summer for her in a similar style).

Here is the before, and it's something I see quite frequently; excellent quality, but dated:

And the after, simply styled for Christmas:

I began this makeover by sanding the original finish off the top and staining it in GF's Antique Walnut. I love it's richness without being over the top dark.

The remainder of the hutch was finished in GF's Antique White and distressed to give that country feel.

I'm kind of thinking something like this would be pretty perfect in our new house, so I very way may be on the hunt for my own.

Last thing...I just want to remind you all that I have a giveaway sponsored by Balsam Hill still going on. You can get all the details and the link to enter here.

Countdown to Christmas
