Gull Gray & Milk Glass Dresser

Morning everyone! Today is my Porch Sale! So excited. OK. Actually...everything had to be moved into the garage because the weather is not supposed to cooperate, yet again, this afternoon. I spent the better part of yesterday sweeping, moving, cleaning and hanging fabric to make the space look a tad better. I'll be sure to share tons of pictures tomorrow!
One of the items I'll have for sale is the gorgeous, vintage dresser.

Porch Sale Preview

Hi everyone! I'm kind of filled with nervous excitement right now. On Sunday, June 30th, I'm having a porch sale at my house. It will be part yard sale (all home décor items) and part painted furniture/crafts/vintage finds that will be staged on and around my back porch.
I've gotten super good feedback on my facebook page about the sale so I am really hoping that lots of things go and the weather cooperates, too!
So, I thought I would share with you all some of the things I will have for sale. Of course all of the furniture I painted!
Vintage tables in navy, bold yellow and ocean blue...

My Favorite Room at Savvy Southern Style

Happy Friday and I am so incredibly excited because I am guest posting over at Savvy Southern Style today as part of Kim's My Favorite Room series!
I am so incredibly thankful for this opportunity! Savvy Southern Style is a blog that I have gone to for inspiration since way back when I first started blogging. To be asked to guest post by Kim is just an amazing honor because her house is beyond gorgeous. In fact, her sun room is probably my favorite space ever!
Be sure to head on over to read my guest post and see Kim's fantastic blog!

[Project Notebook] Inspiring Home Decor Magazines

Do you love reading home décor magazines as much as I do? Some (my husband) might say that I am a little bit obsessive over them, but I call it research!  It's where I get a lot of my motivation and ideas for projects, after all. Here are my favorites...and yes, three of them happen to be from England. I think I must really, really love how people decorate there!

What magazine do you read the most?

Pinterest Love...

Hey everyone!  Have you ever had one of those weeks where both awesome and terrible things happen...that's where I am right now and it is leaving me feeling kind of conflicted and anxious, proud and excited. I very weird mix.
Here are some of my favorite images that I pinned last week.
I'd love to have you follow me on Pinterest. You can find me pinning here.

DIY, Updated Side Yard

Everyone. I have hinted at it and wished and willed it to happen; the removal of our ugly, red, rotten, way-to-high-for-its-space, fence. My husband finally took it down this weekend with the help of our neighbor and I could not be more thrilled.

My Fun, Thrifty Finds

Hey everyone!
We got so much done yesterday! I worked on some painting projects that will be available to my customers next weekend when I have my porch sale and my husband and neighbor took down our old, ugly, rotten fence.
I'm always out hunting and shopping for fun things. Lately, it's been furniture for my business, but I always love getting little accessories for my own home because I think that is what makes it so collected and eclectic; which I love!
I seriously may have squealed out loud when I found this pillow a few days ago at a tag sale. Are the colors not the most perfect for my entryway with those Pier 1 candles? The back of the pillow is even aqua which, just so happens to be the main accent color in my home.  Best part? It was just $1!

Things I'm Loving This Week...

I'm looking forward to a relaxing (and for me that means getting a lot accomplished) weekend!
Here are some of my fave things I've found this week. Enjoy!

Three Demilunes...

I love finding little demilune tables and was super lucky last weekend to find two while out at tag sales. I also had found a third earlier this spring at the thrift store that ended up being a custom piece for a customer of mine.

[Project Notebook] DIY Garden Gates

My husband doesn't know this yet, but we are going to build a garden gate this summer! I sort of hinted around at it once, but I completely do not think he took me seriously.
We have this old, ugly rotting fence separating our house from our neighbors and last year my husband started taking it down and I started getting quotes for a fence.  Totally did not happen since every quote was way out of our price range.
So, while I'm still figuring out what I want to do in terms of privacy on one side, I do know that a cute, rustic garden gate will go great with our cottagey yard.
These are my top picks, although realistically the one with the window would never work with two crazy boys...

I love the idea of using reclaimed materials for this project!
Any ideas, comments, suggestions?

Shabby White Secretary

Happy Sunday (and Father's Day)! I'm hoping for a part relaxing/part getting things accomplished kind of day. The weather is finally nice so it would be great to spend time outdoors, plus, I have several furniture projects that are like 99% done and just need one tiny thing to complete them. I hate having mostly finished things lying around!

Several weeks ago I found this secretary with drawers at Savers. I was super excited since it was a great, solid piece that just needed a little love (and to lose its horrible, shiny finish)!

Don't you love the feet?

Things I'm Loving This Week...

It is still raining here! This is unbelievable!
I'm off in a bit to bring my boys to their homeschool art class, then back home to clean and organize my house and work on some special projects.
In a couple of weeks I'll be having a sale at my house. Part yard sale of my cast off home décor items (because you know I have way too much and am always changing things up), part painted furniture/crafty item sale. I've been super busy going through all of my things this week seeing what will stay and what will go. It should make for a really fun afternoon on the day of the sale!
Here are my fave things I have found this week online. I really, really think I need to get that pillow for my living room. The colors are perfect for fall (and yes, I am thinking that far ahead!)

Simple, Drop Leaf Dining Table

Alright, so the amount of rain we have gotten up here in the northeast is bordering on ridiculous right about now. It's to the point where the nice sunny days are a rarity instead of the other way around!  Being cooped up in June and continually having to drag all my painting stuff inside is getting a little old.
Anyway, sometimes it is so tough to sell pieces of furniture that I've refurbished because I've fallen in love. And sometimes, I totally give in and keep the piece, but other times I know they just need to go because I truly have no room for it.
I loved this little drop leaf dining table that my husband picked up for me.

Adding Bold Color in a Neutral Space

Hi Everyone! My house is finally clear of furniture pickups so I thought I would share some pictures of my entry and living rooms with you all. Lately, I've been wanting to add in more bold colors--not crazy amounts, but just little bits of it here and there as accents around the rooms.

Painted Retro Vanity

Happy Sunday! I have a crazy, busy day ahead of me. I think I have six or seven customers coming to pick up their furniture. (You can imagine what my entry looks like right now!) But, I was pretty excited to have gotten all the pickups arranged for the same day.
In between all of that chaos I am hoping to, at least start, a couple of other paint projects (I have a cool vintage coffee table and an old dorm room desk on tap). Also, I would like to start to prime the upper kitchen cabinets.

Modern, Classic Desk

Sorry, for the lack of posts! Seriously, I have been a painting maniac this week; making a conscious effort to get all of my custom orders and as much of my own pieces to sell done as possible.  There is only so much I can stand of a messy house and a dining room cram-packed with furniture!

Country Cottage Sideboard

Oh my gosh everyone, I can't believe it is already June! The weeks have been flying by.
I had my first little disaster this past week with my furniture painting business.  I had stored all of my waiting to be painted furniture in our garage. Yeah. Not such a great idea with the incredible amount of rain & humidity we are having. So, a few days ago we had to toss out a couple of pieces of furniture and then drag everything else into our dining room, which has now become my storage/work room. Totally not the best or ideal situation, but it's what I'm working with right now.
So, on to this little makeover I did to a sideboard that a customer of mine found at Brimfield.
